Market Ready Enclosure, Just Add Your Firmware

Bluetooth sensors can be connected to your Android or iOS devices, or to a Windows PC  through a Bluetooth 5 dongle. Demonstration quality firmware , Android OS, iOS Windows app source codes are available to reduce your development time.

They can also be connected to a cloud server through Fanstel BWG gateway and WiFi router. Source codes are available for use with Arduino IDE to develop connection to a cloud server. As an alternative, ready to use firmware can be preloaded into BWG gateway to set up connection to MediumOne server. MediumOne offers free or very low cost monitoring services for sensors. Embedded MediumOne codes in BWG gateway is not open sources.

These sensors are in market ready enclosure.  Upon completion of firmware and apps development, you can begin marketing products.

As  Design Example to Develop Your Own Products

  • Our host board and enclosure implementations are examples for minimizing Bluetooth range degradation. You can reuse our schematics and Gerber files as well as placement of mechanical components if you are interested in developing your own products.

BLE Signal Attenuation Through Enclosure

Thickness of Bluetooth sensor is 2 mm. There are openings on the side of box that BLE signal can go through with little attenuation. 

  • Use OpenMesh stacks for range measurement. A message is sent from a smartphone to Node B through Node A. ACK from Node B is sent back to smartphone through Node A. 
  • Bluetooth range is the maximum distance that smartphone can receive ACK signal.

  • Antenna is 2 meters above ground
  • The first antenna is facing the second one. The second one rotates by 30 degrees after each measurement. Twelve measurements are taken.

Range degradation for 4mm (2mm at each side) of plastic enclosure is about 20%, from 340 meters to 280 meters.
